The Board of Commissioners of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County, Illinois will receive sealed bids in the Bid box, Room 569 County Building, 118 North Clark Street, Chicago, Illinois 60602, until 10:00 A.M., March 10, 2009 for the following:
JOB NO: 09-03 Runway Extension For Model Airplanes @ Kickapoo Woods
DESCRIPTION: This Contract Consists of Preparation of Base Course, Prime Coat Materials, Biuminous Concrete Binder Course, Bituminous Concrete Surface Course, Striping and other Related incidental work necessary to complete this improvement according to plans, Standard Specifications and Detail Specifications.
PRE-BID MEETING: Yes, February 25, 2009 @ 10:00 am@536 N. Harlem Ave. River Forest.
COMPLETION DATE: May 22, 2009
PERFORMANCE/PAYMENT BONDS REQUIRED: Yes
BID DEPOSIT: YES
Plans, specifications and proposal forms and official bidding envelopes may be obtained at the Planning & Development Department, Forest Preserve District, 536 North Harlem Avenue, River Forest, Illinois 60305, at NO CHARGE. All plans etc. are not to be returned, will not be furnished by mail and will be available from 10:00a.m, Tuesday, February 17, 2009, until, noon, Monday, March 9, 2009 the closing time and date of issuance.
No less than the general prevailing wage rates, as required or adjusted pursuant to the applicable statues, shall be paid to all laborers work persons, and mechanics performing work under this contract
The Forest Preserve District of Cook County hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure, that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color or national origin in consideration of an award.
In order to achieve the Forest Preserve District’s goals of 25% MBE and 5%WBE participation in construction contracts and purchases, we encourage bidders to utilize minority and women business enterprises whenever possible in subcontracting purposes.
