Youth Programs

Picture a child holding a salamander for the first time, being tickled by a cardinal feather, smelling the flowers of spring... children need nature around them. The Forest Preserve District of Cook County Nature Centers offer a wide range of children’s programs to “open their eyes” to natural wonders and to develop an appreciation for the forest preserves. Such exciting programs include preschool story and craft programs, summer and winter break programs for elementary school-aged children, a Junior Naturalist program, youth volunteer opportunities and more. The youth of today is the future of tomorrow. Why not start young?
